MN has the worst drivers in America.
Here is the list of the worse drivers in 2017. I found it from this MN site.
The odd man out is Minnesota which I would never have guessed. You see, I actually have contacted MDOT in Minnesota. Specifically, I have corresponded with Nathan Drews from MnDOT. Nathan was creating their geo website for speed limit assets. Thats what they call signs, assets. We spoke back in 2011. Time flies.
Like most states, they create a website where you can download stuff, like signs. As far as I can tell, they never consult their users, just hand it out as they want. Personally, I want update-notifications when they change, but you have to just keep going to their site and grabbing data.
That is how Wikispeedia is different. We embrace the DELTA, eg, with one query, you can get all the changes to our database in one fell swoop. This includes new signs, changed signs, and removed signs. The idea is that everyone can update their personal copy of Wikispeedia and simply do one query per day.
No daily polling is our future plan, not in the sense people are used to. That reminds me, we need to get some sockets or Signal-R or notify system to tell people that there are new signs available. If you want that, ask and it will be done. An email list to start..

and I spoke throughout 2011. We exchanged tactics on database setup. He was refreshingly approachable. I realized during that time that I would have to correspond with 50 state entities, an impossible task. I had approached FL at one point which went no where. Its the “not invented here” mentality.
The most interesting project at Wikispeedia has been gathering the “variable speed limit signs” around St Louis. But that is a different story.
So, if you are imagining Betty White hogging the fast lane in Minnesota, you are not alone. Thats what they do and now they have laws to pry Betty from the lane.
Wikispeedia is devoted to reducing road rage. Help us. It only takes a minute. You can quit using the Israeli made Waze for a few minutes and help some teens avoid speeding tickets…
Do you think MN should actually be on this list? Comment below.
Now I will get back to trying to get us converted to 501c3. They denied it since we are an LLC. Ugh. Back to work….
