We all get crazy on the road, but hopefully we don’t end up on cops. Every teenager gets two introductory tickets. Its like joining a club. There are dues and these two manditory tickets are the dues.
The first ticket is an accident.
You are confident, driving moms minivan (no longer running errands with your mom. link ) and perhaps going to a friends house after school. Then for some stupid reason, the car in front of you stops and you crash into them. Its their fault. Welcome to the club. This is your first installment of monthly dues.
The second ticket is speeding.
You are on an empty road perhaps, no reason to go 45. You drift up to 55 by accident because like I said, the road is empty. Then the blue lights. On my first speeding ticket, I saw the blue lights and I moved to the right to let the policeman pass. Surely he was heading to a 10 car pileup ahead. But no luck. As I moved to the right, he moved with me. Then it hit me, this is so embarrasing. I am a criminal, but not really.
Traffic tickets shouldn’t be handled by police. Lumping traffic with murder is wrong. Everyone
gets a ticket, so why are we lumped with murders? So there you are, receiving and possibly fighting your first two tickets. Congratulations!
This blog is Road Rage Reduction, so here is tip 2.
Tip2: Get an app which gently tells you if you are speeding. Or write your own. Perhaps a senior project. Here is such app and code. link link. Make your app fun. My first incarnation had granny yell at you:
“Slow down or take your shirt off, because we’re gonna be on cops“.
Listen to Granny.
You get the idea.
